BEAVER BUGGIES TIME
Yes it’s that time again!!!!
Beaver Buggies will be running on Tuesday February 2nd, 2010
We are booked for 7:30pm to 8:30pm. Please arrive at approximately 7:15 at Camp Samac Council Hall, located at the entrance off of Conlins Road
Price this year is: $10 for kit
We will be building the Kits at one of our meeting at the end of January. Also in the interest of keeping the night fair we will not be allowing weights or heavy modifications done to the cars. Last year we had some upset Beavers because of cars always beating everyone else’s. (painting, feathers, googly eyes are ok)

Scouts go “Over The Edge”
The weather couldn’t have been better for a day at Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area. 9 scouts from the 7th, 13th, & 15 th Whitby Troops took part in the day long “On Rappel” program run by Scouter Ron and his crew from the Central Escarpment Council of Scouts Canada.
The scouts challenged themselves rappelling down the cliff face, ascending up using a jumar, and top rope climbing the limestone cliffs of Rattlesnake Point. It was fun but exhausting day for the scouts; I’m sure many of them nodded off on the drive home.
Many thanks go out to Scouter Ron for an amazing program. In fact, beacuse it is such a great program, the waiting list has grown to almost 3 years. Most of all thanks to the scouts who attended, who challenged themselves and overcame their fears and made it a great day for all involved.
Check out our On Rappel pictures and see for youself just how challenging it was for the scouts.

Beaver Scary Cakes
On October 20 7th Whitby Beavers went to the Loblaw’s Super Centre where they had a tour of the produce section and learned about how to eat healthy and learned some of the names some of the fruits and veggies. They had samples of the potato wedges, some baloney and yummy pineapple. Afterwards, they went upstairs and were give circular white cakes to decorate. The beavers had a great time spreading mounds of white, purple, orange and black icing. From the looks of some of the beaver vests we think that they iced themselves too. Everyone had a scary good time creating their boo-tiful Halloween cakes. Thank you to Mrs. Kabrit for taking the Scary Cakes pictures
