7th Whitby Registration Night

Registration for all sections & leaders will be held Tuesday September 14th in the gym at West Lynde Public School (270 Michael Blvd, Whitby) from 6:30 - 7:30 PM
This year we find ourselves in urgent need of Beaver Leaders. If we are unable to find some new leaders we may have to suspend our Colony program for this year. Parents - please think about becoming a leader. Training is provided. If you would like more information contact Mary-Alice at 905-666-1920

Share The Adventure - Volunteers Needed Urgently
7th Whitby Scout Group is in need of the following for the 2010-2011 scouting year:
Section Leaders
Currently require leaders for the Beaver (5-7 yrs), Cub (8-10 yrs), and Scout (11-14 yrs) programs. Training is available. This position requires working as part of a leadership team conducting colony, pack, or troop programs in accordance with guidelines in program handbooks and By-Law, Policies and Procedures. 10-14 hours per month for planning and meetings, plus special events, weekend outings, camps, etc. Additional time may be required for training, sharing sessions, Group Committee and Council meetings.
Secretary
Effectively record and maintain minutes and decisions made as well as compose other correspondence as required by the Group Committee. Provides excellent support to section scouters and Group Commissioner ensuring appropriate forms are provided to the Council in a timely manner.

Whitby Area Scout Trucks
Congratulations to Brandon (13th Whitby) on his 3rd place finish in the Scout Truck - Design category at the Whitby Area Scout Trucks competition held at Iroquois Park. 3rd place is like winning a Bronze Medal at the Olympics. Over 40 trucks were entered by Scouts from Whitby, Port Perry, and Cannington. Attached are a couple of pictures from the event.
